Hallo - Hello

Hi there,

I would like to show you this colorful card over on the Karten-Kunst Blog:

  • when I saw Jennifer McGuire's wonderful balloon card, I knew I had to re-create it and here is how I did it
  • cut out the Karten-Kunst Große Texte Hallo from black cardstock and run this die-cut through your ScanNCut, choose to cut a frame around the sentiment, remove the die cut and place a piece of watercolor paper on the cutting mat and press cut
  • cut out a stitched rectangle around this frame cut and place it in the center
  • use a balloon die (I chose one from the Lawn Fawn Party Balloons set) and cut it from a piece of acetate to create your own DIY stencil
  • apply several colors of Distress Ink (Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalde, Festive Berries, Lucky Clover, Salty Ocean, Shaded Lilac) through your stencil with a Mini Ink Blending Tool until the whole panel is filled with colorful balloons
  • use a black Pitt Artist Pen and a rule to draw in the balloon strings
  • cover the black sentiment with several layers of clear embossing powder
  • cut a slightly larger stitched panel from grey cardstock and cover the area that would be behind the frame cut with double-sided adhesive
  • glue a sequin background onto the grey panel
  • lay a piece of acetate behind the frame cut and put the layers together - now all the sparkling sequins will show through the frame cut
  • use Glossy Accents to glue the sentiment into the frame
  • as a final step adhere all the layers to a white cardbase

Leave a little sparkle wherever you go.

Yours,
